Anne
Fitzsimmons, founder of ABC Patterns, first started selling patchwork
and quilt patterns at a quilt show in Orange County, California,
in 1970. Before 1970, Anne taught quilting in adult education classes,
and also taught home economics/sewing classes in high school.
Anne's love of quilting lead her to begin her own business, "ABC
Patterns", in 1979. ABC Patterns now participates in at least
14 quilt shows per year, selling quilt patterns and giving demonstrations
on various quilting techniques. Now in her 80's, Anne still designs
quilt patterns but is no longer attending quilt shows. (Check the
web site for her latest paper-piecing designs.)
Sally Bertetto, one of Anne's daughters, is now carrying on the
family business and attending quilt shows. Sally has done many of
Anne's paper-piecing patterns for show demonstrations, and she enjoys
patchwork too. Be sure to stop by and say hello to Sally if you
attend a quilt show in southern California.
